KRAFTWERK – TEATRO DEL SILENZIO 2025

KRAFTWERK
FRIDAY, 18 JULY, 2025
TEATRO DEL SILENZIO 2025
Lajatico (PI)

THE PIONEERS OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC ADD AN UNMISSABLE NEW ITALIAN DATE IN A UNIQUE LOCATION
The Teatro del Silenzio, inaugurated at the will of Andrea Bocelli, rises among the hills of Lajatico, the hometown of the renowned tenor. Originally conceived to host a single performance each year, the venue features a circular stage that annually becomes the setting for a unique scenographic installation. On days without activity, the stage transforms into an artificial lake, making this place a true “natural theater,” immersed in the peaceful silence of Tuscany.

Ralf Hütter and company will bring to Italy the iconic discography of Kraftwerk, from Autobahn to Tour de France Soundtracks, for a one-of-a-kind show blending music and performance art. The historic Düsseldorf band, among the most influential and visionary in music history, is a true “Gesamtkunstwerk” — a total work of art.

The Kraftwerk multimedia project was founded in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. The duo established their Kling Klang Studio in Düsseldorf, Germany, where they conceived and produced all of Kraftwerk’s albums. By the mid-1970s, Kraftwerk had achieved international recognition for their revolutionary soundscapes and musical experimentation through robotics and other technological innovations.

With their futuristic vision, Kraftwerk created the soundtrack of the 21st century’s digital age. Their compositions, using innovative techniques, synthetic voices, and computerized rhythms, have influenced countless musical genres, including Electronic, Hip Hop, Techno, and SynthPop.

In their live performances, the German band — composed of Ralf Hütter, Henning Schmitz, Georg Bongartz, and Falk Grieffenhagen — expresses their belief in the dual contributions of man and machine. In recent years, Kraftwerk have come full circle, returning to their origins within Düsseldorf’s art scene.

The 3-D concert series at MoMA was followed by further performances at the Tate Modern Turbine Hall (London), Akasaka Blitz (Tokyo), Sydney Opera House, Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles), Fondation Louis Vuitton (Paris), Neue National Galerie (Berlin), and the Guggenheim Museum (Bilbao).

In 2014, Electro pioneer Ralf Hütter and his former partner were honored with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. In October 2021, Kraftwerk were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
