After announcing their live performance on July 25 at the Ancient Theater of Taormina, KRAFTWERK have added a new Italian date. The pioneers of electronic music will perform live on July 18 in the iconic setting of the Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico (Pisa). The concert is co-produced by Ettore Caretta for Intersuoni\/BMU and Vittorio Quattrone for City Sound & Events.<\/p>\n

The Teatro del Silenzio, inaugurated at the initiative of Andrea Bocelli, is located among the hills of Lajatico. Initially conceived to host just one show per year, the venue features a circular stage that presents a unique scenography each year. During its downtime, the stage is transformed into an artificial lake, making this location a true “natural theater,” immersed in the silence of Tuscany.<\/p>\n

Ralf H\u00fctter and his bandmates will bring the classics of Kraftwerk’s discography to Italy, from “Autobahn” to “Tour de France Soundtracks”, for a unique show blending music and performance art. The historic D\u00fcsseldorf band, among the most influential and visionary on the music scene, is indeed a true “Gesamtkunstwerk” \u2014 a total work of art.<\/p>\n

The Kraftwerk multimedia project was born in 1970, founded by Ralf H\u00fctter and Florian Schneider. The two established their electronic studio, Kling Klang Studio, in D\u00fcsseldorf, Germany, where they conceived and produced all Kraftwerk albums. By the mid-1970s, Kraftwerk had gained international recognition for their revolutionary “soundscapes” and musical experimentation through robotics and other technical innovations. With their futuristic visions, Kraftwerk created the soundtrack of the 21st century\u2019s digital age. Their compositions, featuring innovative techniques, synthetic voices, and computerized rhythms, have influenced countless music genres, including Electronic, Hip Hop, Techno, and SynthPop. In their live performances, the German band \u2014 composed of Ralf H\u00fctter, Henning Schmitz, Georg Bongartz, and Falk Grieffenhagen \u2014 showcases their belief in the combined contributions of humans and machines. In recent years, Kraftwerk have returned to their roots within D\u00fcsseldorf\u2019s artistic scene. Their 3-D concert series at MoMA was followed by presentations at the Tate Modern Turbine Hall (London), Akasaka Blitz (Tokyo), the Sydney Opera House, the Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles), the Fondation Louis Vuitton (Paris), the Neue National Galerie (Berlin), and the Guggenheim Museum (Bilbao). In 2014, electro pioneer Ralf H\u00fctter and his former partner were honored with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. In October 2021, Kraftwerk were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n
