Matteo Ferarra has already performed in some among the most important Italian and international opera houses, including Teatro alla Scala, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Real de Madrid, Theater an der Wien, Teatro Colon de Buenos Aires, Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo.
Born in Padova, he graduated at Conservatory in Adria, then he studied at Accademia Chigiana di Siena and Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro. Currently he is studying with Raina Kabaivanska.
A specialist of brilliant roles, he worked with such conductors as Daniel Barenboim, Alberto Zedda, Vladimir Jurowski, Myung-Whun Chung, and with such stage directors as Mario Monicelli, Robert Carsen, Damiano Michieletto, Pierluigi Pizzi and Franco Zeffirelli.
In recent years he took part successfully in such productions as Tosca at Amsterdam Concertgebouw conducted by Pinchas Steinberg, Faust in Modena, Reggio Emilia and Piacenza Carmen and La traviata at Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, The merry widow and La bohème at Teatro San Carlo di Napoli.
